Main hunting area for wild boar is on a cattle station (ranch) south of Darwin where there are practically unlimited numbers of wild boars and pigs. Hunting is on foot, in and around paper bark swamps, cane grass stands and the flood plains.

The wild boar are also found on Cobourg Peninsula (banteng area) and currently in small numbers in the buffalo area.
